um yeah so we made it... um after some adventures in newark and new york. We are off to boruca tomorrow... more later maris is hovering....

mi primero poste
ok guys here is the deal, some of you are on facebook, some of you are on myspace, some of you are only on email... and most of you said you wanted to see what was going down on my ridiculous trip... so this is the place. Check it out anytime you like. Every time I find myself at a tiny tiny cafe de interneto ... I'll log in here and fill it with posts and probably lots of fun spanish punctuation.
As for right now... I'm still in my pj's. The backpacking bag is packed. I'm making my way through the beginner series of spanishpod101.com .... and I'm kind of addicted. I have a pile of Spanish flash cards the size of my head. I'm a bit nervous about running out of money. But all of that being said... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
as an introduction.... in case you didn't already know.... I am going on this trip because I am a travel addict. I am a travel addict who is going to need to get a real big kid job soon... hopefully in the flailing newspaper industry. So before I clutch the ankles of the big long road to my dream job..before I resign myself to having 5 million jobs again.... and most importantly before I agree to two weeks vacation... Im getting out! I have nothing to tie me down and only money to hold me back. I figure my whole life is ahead of me and it can wait for 3 months.
So here is the grand plan... Dec. 26th.... my mother braves the snow to drive me to Manchester New Hampshire for my cheap flight.... we stay over and I fly out on the 27th. December 27th I arrive in my favorite city philly! I have a quick dinner with some friends and tell them I love them but they will have to wait to visit until march 30th. Lydia Mandell , coolest lady I know will drive us in her boy's van to the lovely town of Newark.... where we will sleep like bums, I mean backpackers, in the airport. December 28th at the ass crack of dawn we will depart. We will get to San Jose, meet Maris, and the four of us will start our journey. Megan will be staying the whole three months and Megan's boy Sidney and our friend Maris will stay for 3 weeks. We will be going to the fiesta de diabilitos, in Boruca!!!! I can not wait to see my host family!!!!!!! I will be doing a bit more shooting to continue my thesis work. Then after the 4 day festival we are off to either Limon, Torteguero, Corcovado, la Fortuna, who knows?! we will travel around for the three weeks, drop Maris and Sidney off in San Jose and then Megan and I will travel through Costa Rica and panama over the next three months! at the end we will fly out of panama city and return to philly where I will visit for an additional 2 weeks... and I will eat ramen noodles and be tan.
